Heel, I do apologize for updating the site as much as I should. But - and I hate to use this as an excuse - but when I'm here at 5:45 every morning, I leave at 9 to drive to Pensacola for class five days a week, I'm back in the saddle right at 3:45 to do SST, and don't leave here until after 8 most nights ... it's tough to get cracking on updates.

However, now that football is here, you'll be getting a ton more updates - so stick with it my friend! Thanks!

Hopefully this editorial, blog, or whatever it is, will not stay up for 3 months, like the one before it.
I'm sure it's hard to write an interesting, well thought out sports article, but one every three months?

Rob, you're laser focused on "sex in the bathroom". I agre with everything you're saying about that. But, what about purchasing and distributing alcohol for a 20-year old? How "legal" is that? Could the suspension be based on that, and not so much on the sex?

This is where every white guy in the USA can stand up and cry racism. Roethlisberger got suspended for being stupid and white at the same time. There's no way a black man would have been suspended for this. Not by the NFL at least. If I were the Rooney family, I would absolutely suspend him. He's hurting the image of the NFL. Even without being arrested/charged/convicted of anything, his actions are still hurting the league.

By the way, Rob, you should copy/paste your posts into the forum. You'd get a lot of hits. Maybe have a section of the forum that only you and the other "Ticket" personalities can start threads in, but that any of us can reply to. Trust me, you'd get a lot more discussion.

Where to start . . . .

1. How am I supposed to take this seriously when you can't get the names of the conferences right? Western America Conference? Really? Mountain America? Are you serious? Be honest with us, Rob. You wrote this post while surrounded by empty beer cans, didn't you?

2. Equating 7-5 teams with 6-6 teams is the first step in keeping these teams out of the BCS Championship? This is actually not a bad idea, but it's very poorly argued above. Actually, it's not argued. It's simply stated. Rather than support, we are given a history.

How about you give this one another shot?

I have to say, very good column. It is totally up to us as fans whether or not to look up to them. I do believe that as a whole society does put too much emphasis on athletes as role models. Far too many of them are involved in scandals and not enough are involved in their communities. Too many athletes view their success as a right and not a responsibility. In the latest issue of ESPN the magazine is a great article on Albert Pujols. He is one athlete that I would encourage kids to look up to as a role model. Not BECAUSE he's an athlete but because he is a true role model. He views the money that he is being paid as a responsibility, not only as a baseball player to produce, but as someone in a position to help those less fortunate. Pujols gives not just his money, but so much of his time to charity work and really strives to make a difference.
While Iverson, Roethlisigiveupalready, Arenas, Tiger show what is wrong with professional athletes.... Pujols shows what can be right.

I agree with some of what youre saying Rob, but, there are a few errors and oversights. First, of very little importance, he had 49 his rookie year not 47. Sorry dude I had to throw that one out there. Second, why is it that when people talk about steroids they only mention Sammy Sosa for like half a second? Hes the biggest example of the benefit of steroids. In the 99 season you said Big Mac "drilled 65 and left everyone in the dust". Not quite everyone, Sammy had 63. You mentioned that in the 98 and 99 season he hit 65+ but then the next two seasons those numbers were cut in half. Being the incredibly thorough reporter you are Rob, I'm sure you noticed that his games played and at bats were also cut in half. Keep in mind I'm not denying that the man did steroids I'm just defending the rest of his career. It sucks that he ruined his name and possibly his chance of getting into the hall for no reason. The only thing I can think of is that he was pursuaded by that damn Jose Canseco, whom I also love. I'm an A's fan so I cant dog the bash brothers too much, you understand dont you? They did take us to three straight world series. Ok we only won one world series but hey, i bet any Cubs fan would take that in there lifetime! (sorry sarah spain) Ok I'm off of my soapbox, keep up the good work Robtimus Prime!!

Wait, wait, wait. What am I missing? Georgia is above Tech? How is this possible? Is this a cumulative ranking including the last 20 years or something? It can't be, because FSU is way down where they are currently. Here's where your obvious bias shows clear. In almost every case, the ACC schools are downplayed and the SEC schools are elevated above where they ought to be.

USC over VA Tech and Miami? Arkansas, Kentucky, and Mississippi State over FSU? Are you kidding me?

The worst part of this is that you will read my words and think that I'm the irrational one.
